Text clipped on page load in Google Chrome on the Mac

This is what I see when I load the page in Google Chrome (44.0.2403.125) on the Mac (Yosemite):

Once I start editing the text, there is no more clipping of the text on the right.

reproduced. it's easier to get to happen when visiting from another domain, though. works fine if I refresh page.
