When nothing is found, what exactly is returned?

When I accidentally included a leading space in the input, closing times of something other than the inputted repository were shown, yet nothing informed me of that on page. However, clicking the links resulted in GitHub's 404 page.

Coincidentally, these are the numbers of mavoweb/mavo, so I assume, the default is silently applied as a fallback when the stats cannot be found.
