Tag searches does not work properly

When clicking on a tag, not all occurrences will appear. Going to the next page is especially buggy, normally causing a listing of unrelated notes.

Reproduce: Create more notes than what fits into one "All notes"-page. The tag lookup seems to only cover the first page.

I'm seeing something similar but when there's only one occurrence of a tag, the note containing that tag doesn't show up in the search results when clicking the tag.

Actually the issue is not limited to just one instance of a tag. I'm seeing it when there's multiple instances. There doesn't seem to be any pattern (that I can discern) as to when a given tag will display accurate search results or not.

In my case theres a clear pattern:

  • It affects all kinds of note searches, including regular text searches and opening "Open tasks".
  • Only notes present on the first page of "All notes" will appear in search result.

For me this is the biggest issue right now. I think the project idea is great and solving it can truly enhance Lavernas usability.

To reproduce:

  • Create enough notes to fill more than one page on the all notes page.
  • for first and last note, either, use same:
    • same name
    • same tag
    • put task in notes
  • perform a search

Only first note (or notes from first page of all notes matching search) is displayed.

Then when older is pressed. Note from the second page (and trashed notes are displayed).

Older notes that aren't duplicates do not appear in any search too (tag search or word search).

Same here (as @ebbot654)! I agree that this is a huge issue, as without a working search machine any note taking app is kind of useless!!

had it always been like that? Or did something change? I am using Laverna only recently. Is there an older version without this issue?

Using Laverna in Chrome: When filtering by tag some tags show results, but often incomplete. Some tags show no results. Similar issues when searching. Often getting no results when searching, though certain searches seem to work fine.

Can confirm that filtering with tags and searching works with notes that are in the first page of 'All Notes'. Notes not displayed on the first page will not show up in search or when filtering with tags.

This does make it pretty difficult to use. Any work on this issue??
