This might be a breaking change so it might be bettter to do for a new version.
Being a minimal image, it is somewhat unrealistic to document ever instance of an extra package that might be needed.
The image will be rebuilt when a new release of Ruby is available or when the Debian image gets an update (whichever comes first)
@opyate the image uses the default config but modifies it slightly for the context of the container.

It's an interesting idea but I am worried it would cause confusion (since both Tianon and us made the same assumption)

@asottile-sentry requiring to install a dependency doesn't really make it incompatible. Slim images are for developer who want more control over what is in their image so they only install...
I don't see `libexpat` in the list of library for the manylinux policy. Furthermore, supporting that policy would force every user of slim into this which is the opposite of...
