[Bug]: Multiplayer mod mismatch
Operating System
Windows 10
BG3 Mod Manager Version
1.0.11.1
BG3 Game Version
Patch 7
Bug Summary
So my friends and I have been encountering an issue when trying to start a multiplayer playthrough. We're installing the exact same mods (all updated/same version numbers) in the exact same load order, making sure they're compatible with patch 7, through BG3ModManager, however when we try starting a MP lobby it gives us an ingame error about there being a mismatch with the mods between us. We then have to disable and enable each one individually in game, starting lobbies everytime we do, just so we can get it to work. However, if one of us ends up loading a different load order in the MM (for single player playthroughs) and then reverts to the multiplayer load order, the game proceeds to give us the exact same error again. I've even sent my friends the .json file to make sure that there's no manual error. I should also mention that this is only a problem in multiplayer, not in single player.

I've been having the same issue with just 2 mods, could you elaborate how you're bypassing this problem ?

Not at all unfortunately. We‘ve not been able to play a modded multiplayer game at all on Patch 7. We managed to start a lobby after going through the absolutely tedious process I described in my original comment (enabling/disabling every mod one by one and starting new lobbies in between.) but as soon as someone switches the load order and then switches back that playthrough is basically unusable. We‘ve tried coming up with fixes for this issue for hours on end on our own but we simply can’t figure out what the problem is since this new patch dropped, it‘s really disheartening.
Same issue here, all the same mods, literally copied my game folder over alongside the larian folder that contains all the configs and mods and get a mismatch error when the other client tries to join.
Any new solutions ?
I had the same problem. If you use the "No Intro" Mod, make sure it's just installed , but not active in loadorder. That was the cause for me. The other thing is, that the "modsettings.lsx" get's synced with Steam Cloud and, at least for me, get's overwritten on game start. I made it read only. I now get a Error that it could not be writen when the game starts, but the game will work anyway with the loadorder set by BG3MM
Larian has a solution for these issues that they put in the patch notes (though it took me three times reading it to notice): https://larian.com/support/faqs/patch-7-multiplayer-issue-connection-failed-error-steam_114
If you use the direct connection method from the above article it will give you the list of mods issues like when trying to load a single player modded game. Just follow the instructions on the page (third party mods will still be an issue with this though). I've had no problems connecting using this method for 3 different modded multiplayer games now after struggling with the mod mismatch error for hours.

This fixed it for me. We were enabling the "No Intro" mod manually with my friend and that was causing the issue. I hope anyone tries this to fix their problem too.
