@NoobNotFound let's merge, what do you think? I'll need to review this first but it'll be easier to just commit to main rather than an insanely large PR.

It would make sense since that's the behaviour in File Explorer, I imagine it wouldn't do any harm to pin it to the sidebar by default, though I'm not sure...

And yes, SDK style projects are supported by the `dotnet.exe` command, meaning that they can build on macOS/Linux ***in theory***.
