Lamda Controls does controller on Linux Mint

Lamda Controls does not see my xBox 360 compatible wired controller on my Linux Mint system. I have also tried an xBox 360 Wireless and a WiiU Pro with no success. There are no errors on launch or during the gameplay.

Controllable works with no issue on Forge.

same with wired xbox one controller on arch (minecraft, fabric and mod itself are all up to date, mod loads and can be configured, but gamepad itself doesn't work)

I'm having the same problem with my wireless xbox one s controller on Pop!_OS
