Core integration

Heyo,

I just got my first Govee light and I would like to put in some effort to get Govee into HA core, what are your opinions on this?

The Govee integration desperately needs someone to work on it since it is still breaking other Python integrations for me, so any work being done on it would be very welcome. Additionally, Govee Devices are so awesome that I believe they deserve to be in Home Assistant Core anyway to make them even more useful and a more easy replacement for Hue and other Zigbee lights for example.

I actually found out my light only works with the local API for now, so I'm kinda looking into how that can be merged into one integration to allow local polling

It may not need to be one integration. Lifx has two integrations, Lifx and Lifx Cloud.

Maybe worth keeping the Govee local and cloud seperate.

Currently there already is an integration in review for the local API. I expect it to hit 2024.2. :)
