app not asking for file access perms

Steps to reproduce

I installed the latest stable version but after installation is done app didn't ask me for allow file access permissions.

Now when I try to download and create epub I get error or the file created is blank.

I'm using Android 13/MIUI 14.

Expected behavior

It should ask for file access permission

Actual behavior

It didn't ask me for any file access permissions only notification permission is asked
