MAL's API, which animerecs relies on, has been down for a couple years. Apparently there's a new API that's only open to some developers and has no public documentation yet? https://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=1804432

Anyway, I'm not into anime anymore and am not likely to invest time into making the site work with the new API, so unless the new API happens to be exactly the same as the old one, animerecs is probably dead.
