[bug] Missing contributions in sankey diagram

Open BenPortner opened this issue 2 years ago • 0 comments

It seems there are situations in which the sankey diagram does not show all relevant contributions, even when they are clearly above the cutoff and within the calculation depth. I attached a database, which illustrates the problem.

Problem description

The first sankey diagram correctly shows a negative impact attributed to the displacement of -15 MJ heat in the RWGS&FT activity. However, there should be an even higher credit attributed to -20 MJ heat displaced in WAO_PTL. The latter does not show up in the first sankey diagram. Investigating further, I found out that the bug disappears if the electricity demand in the RWGS&FT activity is lowered from 5 to 1 kWh. The -20 MJ heat credit then shows up (second sankey diagram).

wrong sankey diagram (missing heat credit)

wrong sankey (missing heat credit)

correct sankey diagram (lower electricity input)

correct sankey (fixed by lowering electricity input)

steps to reproduce

  1. Import database.xlsx, linking to ecoinvent APOS 3.8
  2. Create LCA setup with FU = 1 kg HTL_PTL, impact category = EF v2.0 GWP 100 or similar
  3. press calculate
  4. switch to sankey diagram
