Translating messages in the browser for moderators

Similar to how twitter / amazon shows a translate button on posts and comments, this feature could be implemented in our moderation dashboards to make it easier to moderate message from other languages.

Questions:

  • what services are there to solve this problem?
  • Cost?

I think a great tool for this is LibreTranslate APIs are well documented and easy to use: https://libretranslate.com/docs/ Docker image: https://hub.docker.com/r/libretranslate/libretranslate

No need for internet conection, language model can be downloaded with the image itself

Thanks @ArgiesDario,

I tried it locally and it works fine, the translations are not perfect but probably good enough.

The only problem I see is that it is very CPU intensive, which will take away from other resources deployed on our server.
