Structure manufacturing tax missing

Open LSkyNL opened this issue 7 years ago • 4 comments

It seems like structure manufacturing taxes paid on top of system cost index taxes cannot be set. Is this something that's intentionally left out, or can this be added in the future?

Currently this is intentionally left out, with NPC stations as default (worst case scenario i'd say). I can't get it automatically unless I have access (through someone's SSO/ESI token) to a specific structure (I don't even know if we can get it this way, i'll need to check). The other solution was to add a field to set the tax, but until now I didn't want to add complexity for something that has not that much impact compared to NPC Station taxes.

I'm still open to any feature request, but I don't make any promise for when it'll be added :)

Structure manufacturing tax can be set to 50% though. If you consider that during supercapital or titan builds, or even XL structures, it really starts adding up.

True. For my own curiosity, are there some alliance that set the tax that high ? (I don't need/want names, just want to know if you (or someone reading this ticket) know real example of this happening)

I'll probably look forward adding this somewhere in the app

In my experience it's not unusual for the tax rate to be set that high if the structures, rigs and upgrades have been funded privately. Not every alliance has members that are so rich that they can fund such a project with no consideration to how the investment will pay for itself. I know of one place you can build supers that's freeported and this is the cost: https://i.imgur.com/s8Lyrrf.png - In Brave there are a couple of Sotiyos set to 50% to discourage people from sending the system cost index sky high and some attempt to cover running costs and/or payback the investment.
