flexible body impacting water surface

Can kratos simulate flexible water impacting water surface? I assume this can be done by using FEM-SPH method, is that correct?

Hi @tjumsl ! Indeed, this kind of problem can be modelled with Kratos. There are several approaches: FEM+PFEM, Eulerian fluid + Lagrangian FEM and more I suppose.

In my thesis is did a coupling between the FEM and the PFEM (see https://www.researchgate.net/publication/347934285_A_fully_Lagrangian_formulation_for_fluid-structure_interaction_between_free-surface_flows_and_multi-fracturing_solids) but I know that @rubenzorrilla has been working in FSI too

As @AlejandroCornejo mentioned, Kratos is able to solve this kind of problem. However, traditionally we applied PFEM rather than SPH (pinging @AFranci in this regard). In any case, there are ongoing developments towards this application. Basically, extending the MPM capabilities as well as the bi-phasing Eulerian solver ones.
