Is set to Away a supported feature?
It appears that Nest control is limited to changing the mode (heat, cool, etc) and temp. Setting Nest to Away mode is not working. I am seeing errors in the logs indicating that Nest is falling back to legacy API. Does this have anything to do with it?
I also don't see any visual indication of away status in the home app, in fact it still claims it is set to "cool to 67" (the temp before away started) when my away temperature is set to 76
Not sure if this is expected behavior or if I did something wrong when setting up API access.
Same here. Can't set status to Away or update the temperature when Nest is in Away mode. Reading in the comments that there should be some basic Away support in the plugin. Can it be related to the fact that Away mode is called "Afwezig" in Dutch (language of my Nest and HomeKit setup)?
What are the Siri commands to set Away ("Afwezig") or Home ("Thuis")?
Having read through the dev comments about Away support added in December of 2015, it should be working, but at that time iOS 10 Home app was not available. Time to revisit the implementation now that iOS 10 is out?
Away is also not showing up in other (earlier introduced) apps like Elgato Eve and Insteon+...
I have the same question, can't figure out how to get home/away status to work for Nest thermostat, but the comments I read make it seem like others have it working. It also seems like I should be able to turn Nest cam on/off...
I'd like to add a +1 to this. Would be super nice if I could see the Nest's awaystatus in the Home app!
That's would be a handy feature, could it be because it has changed from Away to Eco now? At least in the U.K.
Does the status within HomeKit always say heating to.. degrees? Even when the heating isn't on?
I noticed that when Nest changes to Away, in the Home app it is simply "off". That is how I know Nest is is on Away status. When it switches back to Home, it turns on back to Cool (which is my Nest set up). For me this is great. I never changed the status in the Home app as I completely let Nest decide Home/Away, and I never change the Away temperature (I guess that's the whole idea?)
@maratonat From what I recall you're correct, it was set up a bit ago and needs revisiting. The Away feature was added to the plugin as a custom characteristic which I would guess is why it doesn't show up in the Home app (although it does in some third party apps like the @brutella Home app).
@simonrb2000 I wondered the same thing about the new Eco label. Is it just a UK thing? Or do others see this too?
Is away support for IOS 11 devices? I cannot find the button on Home App, but it shows my nest cam as motion detector only.
