[QUESTION] Doom 3 BFG HD mod and Doom 3 BFG VR ?
Has anyone tried running this VR engine mod with this content mod http://www.moddb.com/mods/doom-3-bfg-hi-def/news/doom-3-bfg-hi-def-30-released ?
I am sure they had to do some shader changes and I don't really want to waste time I don't have trying to get it working in VR.
Perhaps @KozGit can make sure Doom 3 BFG VR is compatible with Doom 3 BFG Hi-Def mod out of the box ? :)
With last VR mod I've tried everything worked fine UNTIL hell, now I can't finish game. Worst of all it's all connected to save files, so yeah, don't make same mistake and just play basic Doom 3 BFG with VR mod only.
In hell, you lose your weapons, so you can start the level from the DEV menu in the main menu without affecting the game too much.
?? The game just crashes midway through hell, how would restarting level help?
Thought you said it was related to your savegame. At the minimum you could start the level after hell, you lose all your weapons there too, so again it wouldn't affect gameplay much. Just trying to offer a work around if you were stuck and couldn't finish the game. Does it crash randomly in hell, or does a specific action seem to cause it? (Edit: and I agree, it's probably better to play the game without the hi def textures until I can get it straightened out)
Crashes seem random but around one area it seems, I'm not sure. Gonna try your solution with chosing level maybe.
I was able to finish hell and complete the game. But when I started ROE it won't let me pass the first level without crashing. Honestly I don't really care about the updated texture it was the better weapon sounds that I wanted. Then I tried to replace the 'sound' folder fromthe HD texture pack and it works. Now playing in original graphics but updated sound with 'almost' no problem. Except sometimes I can't see the in game menu.
Confirmed there is a problem with vr and Hi-def texture pack. After coming to hell, I couldn't load map after green teleport. I couldn't even load it with my save games after reverting on non hd pack; the solution was KozGits idea, to choose "dev" in menu, and to start hell map. I made then new save game, and was able to play further. KozGit rules!!!!
