Sync issues between devices

Brief summary

Hi all,

I can't figure out how to sync my 2 devices (note, I'm trying to sync the read status ie current chapter).

• I tried the Kotatsu sync servers, it kind of worked until it didn't. Now the devices won't sync even if I force them to with 'sync now'.
• I tried setting up mal, I tracked all the mangas from my first device and checked if they were all there and synced on mal (they are), but then after adding mal to the second device, after adding tracking to a manga, the app doesn't seem to pull the read status ? (it even otherwrites the status without our of date info if I start reading it)

Did I miss something ? Is sync working as indended ? Thanks for the great app !

Steps to reproduce

For kotatsu sync:

1. have both devices logged in to the same sync account (and server, I'm using the default sync.kotatsu.app)
2. tap on 'sync now' on the first (up do date) device and wait until its done (I have both favs and history synced)
3. tap on 'sync now' on the second (out of date) device and wait until its done
4. reading statuses aren't updated on the second device

For mal:

1. Connect to mal on the first (up to date) device
2. setup tracking for all mangas and sync the chapters by "reading" them
3. check the mangas/chapters are synced on mal
4. Connect to mal on the second (out of date) device
5. setup tracking for a manga
6. a. manga chapters aren't updated
7. b. if you ”read” the manga on the secoud device, it updates mal with the out of date status

I'm having this same issue, sync effectively doesn't work for history. Favourites appear to be syncing but that's where it ends. Reading progression doesn't sync between two devices.

Hello. Sadly, I still can only seem to sync the changes in my favorites and not history.

I'm on 7.1.2 same issue. Favorites is fine, but for books I'm reading recently it failed to change anything especially the read% which is what I care about. Only ancient history worked.

Version 7.4.1 Device A: Pixel 6 Pro Device B: Umidigi G1 Mini

Basically the same issue. I did an initial export from A to B and that was very effective. I initially planned on just keeping up manually but after about a month I figured this is really where sync would be handy and since I can set it up locally I can transition to that later.

But in spite of verifying both devices are using the same account and that it's validated on both devices. And after doing manual syncs on both devices multiple times. I'm still having two major issues.

1. Series I've added as favorite to one device are not showing up on the other. I've only added about 1-2 series per device since the initial manual import so they stick out.
2. History doesn't sync. most of the series I've favorited ARE the same and as an example [Freezing The World: I Built A Doomsday Safehouse] on ComicK drops a few new chapters basically every 1-2 days. So it's very noticable that even after doing a manual sync it's never where I left off when switching devices.
