I was able to find the SVG and verify as well that the SVG itself isn't changing. So as for #12 I will post a bug report on the obsidian...
Depending on why this is happening, a work around could be to use the cached image from preview mode even in read mode, instead of re-rendering it in read mode.

I think one problem with this idea is that people will rate the message based on it's contents. If those contents change then the ratings need to either be wiped...
