I can no longer access settings. No matter where i click or how many times... it is stuck and nothing comes up. The rest of the program is working fine

Hi there,

it could have happend that the settings window was somehow moved to another monitor. Do you have a second monitor?

If the settings window was moved to another monitor (even a non-existent one), this could help: https://www.technipages.com/bring-off-screen-window-back-onto-screen

Thanks for the answer. Unfortunately i do have a second monitor, but nothing is there. I should also see a second window on the task bar as i can see whenever i read the HDD but no second window is shown

mmhh.. I've heard other reports that the settings window may be on a non-existent monitor. Have you tried the steps in the link above? :-) Otherwise, there is a way to reset the settings-window position by editing MediaElch's config in the Window registry, see: https://mediaelch.github.io/mediaelch-doc/faq.html#where-are-mediaelchs-settings-stored

I remove the value of: SettingsWindowPosition on here: \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\kvibes\MediaElch And restarting the MediaElch software seems to have done the trick

Glad to hear that it worked. I will keep this issue open until I've come up with a fix for that. You're not the first user to report that issue. I've experienced it with other Qt apps in Linux as well.

I can confirm this issue and the fix. Thanks for posting @enrique131

I suggest you no longer use the windows registry and use a config file local to the application directory.
