Movie set (collection) fanart

Open IvanGavrilenko opened this issue 6 years ago • 6 comments

This is reopen of #638 issue - the issue is related not to movie poster/fanart but to collections poster/fanart.

Please see the screenshot#1 - that's where I'm trying to obtain images. 1 collections view

Screenshot#2 - the reply (pay attantion that I'm lookin not on fanartTV but on theMovieDB, while fanartTV returns just the same result) 2 fanart search

Just to be sure I've tried to make search in English not in Russian - Screen#3 3 fanart in english

While searching on themoviedb.org gives the collection with it's posters and fanart - Screen#4 4 themoviedb collection

And the collection has original name I've searched on screen#3 - look on the Screen#5 5 themovedb collection details

The result - MediaElch finds the art for seperate movie, but the Collections tab does not work.

Hi!

I've just tried to download fanart for a few movies and it seems to work again. This issue is related to #632. As far as I can tell, FanartTV's API was offline but it's back again.

See: https://forum.fanart.tv/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=8471&p=14208

If you still experience this issue, feel free to reopen this issue

Regards, Andre

Oh, now I get it :-) Thanks for the detailed description.

"Predator collection" does not return any results for me either. But "Predator" does. Could you try to remove "collection" from the search string?

Oh and. The search functionality for collections is the same as for movies. :) The TheMovieDb API may also return different results than the on-site search.

Yes, thew single movie works quite well, but theMovieDB has special artwork for collections - i.e. if I search just "Predator" and select 1987 year - I would get posters mainly with Arnold Schwarzenegger, and if I select collections - I would receive poster with predator and the name would be 'Predator collection' image

The 'Collection' world comes from theMovieDB collection field image

upd: I've tried to seach 'Predator', select movies both 1987 and 2018 year and looked throug posters - and I have not found posters with "collection" from the screen above - so I believe "Collection" page differs from the movie page image image

The movie page has address https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/... and the collection: https://www.themoviedb.org/collection/...

So can you check which adress is requested on different MediaElch pages?

The api documentation page defines collections as a seperate block. image

May be you should just try to change https://www.themoviedb.org/search/MOVIE?query=predator to https://www.themoviedb.org/search/COLLECTION?query=predator for the specific collection page in MediaElch? 1 collections view

Hi,

thanks! Yes, it seems we don't support it, yet. :/

Sorry for the late answer, but was your account deactivated? Couldn't find any of your posts yesterday and your profile gave me a 404 - Not Found :-)

No :) support told that there was something with anti-spam module and they had to check account manually
