Instead of just renaming, allow also moving files
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. When MediaElch renames files, then it does that in place, i.e. where the folder exists. But sometimes you have files that you scrape and rename and then add to the library. So you have an inbound folder and a target library folder.
Describe the solution you'd like Allow to configure an additional path, a target path, for every item in Settings/General. Then add a "Move" button to the renamer dialog.
Hi,
could you expand on this feature request a bit more? If the file's directory is to be renamed, it's basically moving the file. That can happen for TV episodes for example. :-)
Regards, Andre
Well, in the last few days I digged a bit deeper into MediaElch and understand that it might not be quite the easy going feature I thought it to be :)) So, here the background.
Assume you have incoming stuff all into one folder and it is messy - its the incoming folder, dah! :) One would not like the library itself to actually be this incoming folder. You want to take up stuff, look at it, fix it, scrape it, look at it again, maybe fix it again, maybe scrape it again an then, when it is perfect, then you move it into the library. So that was what I was thinking. Two distinct directories, incoming and library. Maybe call it stage and production :) So, for instance, one could also think of a workflow for broken stuff in the library, i.e. in "production": you pull it out of production back into staging, there you fix it, then push it back into production.
Does that help? :D
You mean move after renaming? That's a feature i miss.. I rip my BluRays with MakeMKV in a map. Scrape the movie and rename the movie. For me, it would be nice that i can move the map when it's renamed to onother map. My multimedia/movie map.
