Shader Compiler/Linker Error

Open dibli-goost opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

Upon installing the latest version of the plugin, starting blender, adding a new material and node tree, Malt returns the error below. image

Notably, the plugin worked fine previously, but replacing the new version of MaltShadingEssentials with any of the prior versions returns the same error. Only way to get Malt to work properly now is to completely remove MaltShadingEssentials.

I also attempted a reinstall of Malt itself, but that didn't work either.

Full session log (and project file, though I'm not sure it's really needed in this case). Shader Linking Bug.zip :

I guess it might be pertinent to add- This is affecting all of my current projects, even ones that aren't using any of the MaltShadingEssentials nodes.

I've found out a way to fix it on my PC, but I don't understand why it works.

Initially my installation process for the plugin was to delete the plugin's folder, and place the latest version in the directory, but if I place the initial version I downloaded in there, and then overwrite it, replacing the files with the latest then the issue goes away?

No idea why deleting the folder first leads to the error. Maybe there's something I'm missing here
