Windows and Linux formats files differently

Hello, I think I am formatting lua files using this extension and I switch between linux and windows often. I may be recalling incorrectly but I recall that they format drastically different which makes it a pain to diff changes. Is there a way to fix this? Close if I am wrong or not willing to fix, thanks.
