Destructible Hesco Barriers/H-Barriers

Open BlackAcidLaser opened this issue 10 years ago • 10 comments

Hesco Barriers/H-Barriers simply cannot be destroyed. This is problematic for anyone who's job it might be to breach a compound/base of any sort.

The same happens in Vanilla version of A3? If the answer is yes, then the fault is on the BIS side.

Sorry, to clarify: this is a feature request and not a complaint.

Hesco barriers due to the way they are constructed are incredibly resilent against pretty much everything. An explosion atleast the size of a satchel would be necessary to believably render them broken, and even then you'd need to place it inside the barrier to do anything

Hesco Barriers were indestructible in ArmA2 and they are indestructible in ArmA3. The best way to breach a compound is to look for the weak spots.

A3 started out with Hescos being destructible. This changed with development. The current HEDP round used by SMAW gunners penetrates 6.9ft (2.1M) of reinforced sandbags. Also, C4 has a 15% higher explosive velocity than TNT, an explosive that was originally employed to move earth. Yes Hescos are VERY durable. No they are not indestructible.

They should be extremely tough. BlackAcidLaser doesnt realize just how much TNT (RDX actually) is used to "move earth". Much much more than 9 kgs. I dont think this is really reasonable. You would take a long time blowing these things up. More than you could possibly do when being shot at.

Well, atleast GBU-12 should be powerful enough I suppose. If you can destroy all houses and fortifications and just Hesco barriers are indestructible that's a bit ridiculous.

I guess the solution is to build all your buildings out of Hescos.

@apollodeathstar, AGM is no longer being worked on. It was superseeded by ACE3:
