Also tried with latest release as well and same problem starting zigbee-herdsman.

Second to this issue. Same SONOFF Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus V2, same "Error: Failed to start EZSP layer with status=HOST_FATAL_ERROR" message.

Anyway, got it working for the moment by downgrading the koenkk/zigbee2mqtt docker image to 1.30.0, and downgrade the firmware of the dongle to ncp-uart-hw_6.10.3_115200.gbl version. Still want to use latest firmware though.

I also had this issue.

Thanks @chickyd3v for the suggestion to downgrade. I didn't go back as far as you (1.36.1 for docker, ncp-uart-hw-v7.3.1.0 for the dongle), and it is back working as expected.

I changed to Zigbee2MQTT version 1.36.1. The module is programmed with version: NabuCasa_SkyConnect_EZSP_v7.1.1.0_ncp-uart-hw_115200.gbl But I get still the same error? @krusse: where did you find this Firmware: “ncp-uart-hw-v7.3.1.0”

@jdwEmSys I used this web flasher: https://darkxst.github.io/silabs-firmware-builder/. However, I have the SONOFF Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus V2, not the skyconnect.

Yes, same version With Sonoff 3.0

I have many problems With z2m and zha in ha 2024.5 , i use noth. Nut before, I try to unplug the usb ,Turn off ha , restart, reconnect the usb in Amother port, restart z2m and it work to.

I had to remove the multinework of my skyconnect. That was the cause of the problem.

I tried this a couple times with no luck. Next step is to try to downgrade the firmware.

Reverting the dongle firmware to ncp-uart-hw_6.10.3_115200.gbl worked for me.

I seem to have the same or simular issue. Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 - P v2 with the Silicon Labs EZSP chipset. Thoughts?

I just gave up on this and installed ZHA and is working 100%.

ya, I am about to give up as well. It seems that the SiliconLabs chipset support is unstable and 'experimental'. I took a brand new RP5 last nite and a brand new test install of HA core.. and tried again .. the same issue. I borrowed a friend's TI Chipset dongle .. worked.

I had a running setup with Z2M 1.39.0 wth ZBDongle-E/Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus V2 connected via USB-extension-cable. I decided to swich from ezsp to ember. But this did not work, regardless I was trying different firmware-versions. Rollback to ezsp was also not possible. After removing the USB-extension-cable, ember worked for me. My running setup on RPI with Docker version 26.1.3, build b72abbb:

Zigbee2MQTT-Version 1.39.0 commit: 0326926

Coordinator-Typ EmberZNet

Coordinator-Version 7.4.3 [GA]

Frontend-Version 0.7.2

Zigbee Herdsman Konverter Version 19.62.0

Zigbee Herdsman Version 0.50.1

Remark: lsusb as well as /dev/serial/by-id show different device-names for my zigbee-dongle depending whether usb-extension-cable is used or not. Correct is QinHeng Electronics SONOFF Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus V2 respectively usb-ITEAD_SONOFF_Zigbee_3.0_USB_Dongle_Plus_V2_XXX-if00 where XXX is adapter-specific (serialnumber?)

Made it works

• First make sure you don't have a ZHA binded on your SonOff Zigbee USB Dongle. (Make sure you did Delete ZHA )

Then update to the latest firwmare with the webapge : https://darkxst.github.io/silabs-firmware-builder/

Then in the configuration of the Add directly (Not in the configuration.yaml (Haven't tried this , but probably works too)).

In the serial part :

port: /dev/serial/by-id/usb-Itead_Sonoff_Zigbee_3.0_USB_Dongle_Plus_V2XXXXXXX adapter: ember

The adapter made the difference for me.
