New UI: Pasting is broken

While using the new UI, the paste option is disabled no matter how you copy text. Trying to use the keyboard shortcut results in text the program does not consider part of any post.

A small update: Pasting is enabled on the right-click menu now, but it still does absolutely nothing. Edit: The option only appears if text is already selected, suggesting that there's a lot more to this bug than it seems.

Another update: Pasting can work to some extent, but still requires text to be selected. Doing so causes posts to be duplicated and merged.
