Really slow on Windows 11

Open RichCat6 opened this issue 1 year ago • 5 comments

Version 5.8 of the program is really slow on Windows 11, taking what feels like ages to uninstall one small program.

System specs if needed:

  • Intel Pentium Silver N5030
  • Intel HD Graphics 605
  • 8GB DDR4 RAM
  • 1TB M.2 SSD

Was v5.7 noticeably faster? Was it only slow to uninstall the first application, but then it was faster?

I also have very slow performance with Windows 10; for every uninstall it waits 30+ seconds to see if it should kill something. From the point of hitting "continue" on a 126mb NoMachine (a vnc like client) uninstall, I timed that it takes 56seconds to get to the next screen. Also when the "cleanup" starts, where it had 3 prefetch files to delete, it took about 20 seconds where it was hung, and wouldn't respond, and wouldn't come-to-front if another window was drug over it.

If an application does come up that should be killed and you decide to abandon the uninstall or hit 'back' there is the same really long wait time.

Very slow in W10 as well with the latest version. 1120 uninstallers on different drives.

Can you try excluding BCU from Windows Defender? Or temporarily disable defender during uninstallation. Does that resolve these issues?

Very slow when searching for app to kill. The rest of the processes work normally.

Win11 BCU 5.9 Ryzen 7 9800X3D 64.0 GB

Excluding BCU from Windows Defender or temporarily disable defender don't make any change.
