GUI grid should be "normalized"

It would be nice if the size of the grid/axes in the GUI would "snap" to increments of whole units or "pretty fractions" of units (e.g. to a fraction whose denominator is 2^a·5^b with |a-b|≤1) so that the grid lines are "nice", rational numbers.
