Can't fly plane, just spectating

When I launch a new mission, it does the normal thing of giving me the briefing then I have to select what I am doing (e.g. plane, task, start location, all that stuff). I select that and press OK. however, it never sends me there, just keeps me spectating. I have tried going back and selecting blue coalition but nothing changes.

General info: playing on 0.4.3 beta, using the forrestal, using a custom faction, playing on caucus map, flying F/A-18C, Windows 10. I don't know if any of that helps but hopefully it does.

I think it is the Forrestal. I've tried everything else without the Forrestal and it works fine

i think its also the Forrestal. did try samehing and had some problem.
