Importing Poser daes using OPENCollada plugin into Maya 2015 reports error before the import is complete.
Install Maya 2015 x64 on a Windows 64 system.and install the OpenCollada plugin
- Launch Poser Pro. Export a Poser figure (i.e. Andy default, Roxie Casual, Dregon) as Collada|RWY using the +Max/Maya 2012+ preset option. Save DAE.
- Launch Maya 2015 64. Window> Setting/Preferences>Plugin Manager Load/AutoLoad ColladaMaya.mll
- File>Import the DAE using OPENColladaImporter
Before dae loads in you get Errors have occurred while reading this scene that may result in data loss. Please check the Script Editor for details.
The figure loads in (very large) but still retains the rig, textures and animation) NOTE: The error doesn't occur in Maya 2013 64 [9/8/2014 8:30:27 PM] Brian Romero: Installing from COLLADAMaya_x64_1.4.1.msi
You do know that there isn't a Maya 2015 compatible OpenCollada, don't you? Nobody has yet commented on the issue I raised in July: https://github.com/KhronosGroup/OpenCOLLADA/issues/268
@BrainWave3D plug is now compiled with VS 2012. Could you give it a try? http://opencollada.fl4re.com
Hi Remi I just tried the latest plugin for both Maya 2014 and Maya 2015
This still only occurs with the Maya 2015 plugin. The output windows warns the following: verwrite existing file! Error: Error: ERROR_DATA_NOT_VALID: Stride of sourceBase of skin controller with semantic SEMANTIC_MORPH_WEIGHT not found! Assuming stride 1! Can't import animation of translation, about multiple translates under node Hip Can't import animation of translation, about multiple translates under node Waist Can't import animation of translation, about multiple translates under node Abdomen Can't import animation of translation, about multiple translates under node Chest Can't import animation of translation, about multiple translates under node Neck Can't import animation of translation, about multiple translates under node Head Can't import animation of translation, about multiple translates under node Left_Thigh Can't import animation of translation, about multiple translates under node Left_Shin Can't import animation of translation, about multiple translates under node Left_Toe Can't import animation of translation, about multiple translates under node Right_Thigh Can't import animation of translation, about multiple translates under node Right_Shin Can't import animation of translation, about multiple translates under node Right_Toe Error: Error: ERROR_DATA_NOT_VALID: Stride of sourceBase of skin controller with semantic SEMANTIC_MORPH_WEIGHT not found! Followed by a long list of - Unknown physical dimension! warnings
wondering if the files exported by poser are valid ?
@BrainWave3D we would need source data (dae) to reproduce this bug
Sorry Remi, I just saw this note. I was going to try On Maya 201 but I looked at the Install_Win notes and only up to Maya 2015 is supported. I'll let you know if v1.6.24 resolved the issue on Maya 2015.
no it work on 2016, the install notes were old, I just updated them see opencollada.fl4re.com and follow the path to the version you need.
from your last post, it seems that you have a bad dae file ? can you test your file with the coherency test . https://sourceforge.net/projects/colladarefinery/files/COLLADA%20Coherency%20Test/Collada%20Coherency%20Test%201.3/
Hi Remi, I just saved this dae from the latest version of Poser 11 Pro and I'm still seeing the original error warning in Maya 2016 on Windows, "Errors have occurred while reading this scene that may result in data loss. Please check the Script Editor for details." I've attached the dae for you to test with. Not sure how to use the Coherency test. Please advise. Thanks -Brian AndyDefault.zip
thanks for the model. It passes the coherency test and looks fine.
So, there's a bug in the morph import in maya then, thanks for reporting
