Desktop theme not honored

Open mphojele opened this issue 4 years ago • 4 comments

Hi there, gpaste on my system doesn't honor the current DE theme.

MyOS: Pop!_OS 19.10 x86_64 DE: GNOME 3.34.3 WM Theme: Pop Theme: Pop [GTK2/3] Icons: Pop [GTK2/3]

From the info above it is clear that my current theme is Pop but gpaste is uses the dark variant of my theme, which is Pop dark. I also realised that it was doing the same for adwaita, the default gnome theme. So if my conclusion of thinking that this is actually not a bug but a feature is correct, my question would then be is there a way to turn this feature off? Or is there a reason why it is this way?

I will add a way to disable dark mode

I'm sure you get this is a lot, but gpaste is awesome! Thank you for this wonderful software and for your decision in with this issue :+1:

As a workaround, calling dbus-update-activation-environment GTK_THEME=:light will fix the problem for the current session

That does partially fix the problem, but introduces another. I'm using the Pop light theme, but that command makes gpaste turn to adwaita light.
