If the format is as close as the importer you're linking seems to indicate, it should work out of the box...

Took a closer look, format is pretty different from what is there, but when the mesh format is correctly known, no reason not to support it... Posting this here for...

To apply the animation from pl0010 to another model, lod the model (pl002c.dat for example) and when prompted to open another file for animation change the prefix in the text...

For the guns I don't remember. Easiest way would be to extract all dat files and look for animation files that start with the gun model name.
