Can we do this object detection by VGG Cov-network ?

Actually, we all know about SSD, YOLO etc. but VGG is not a Weak network it is also a strong network. So can you explain that can we do this Object detection by VGG network ? I think it is very efficient to use. It's a suggestion I don't know the theory of VGG network just I have heard a lot of VGG network. That's why I am asking it. In this repo, you used SSD, YOLO but Should i use this one too ??
