Off-peak charging interference

Open mattwb72tesla opened this issue 2 years ago • 4 comments

I have off peak charging set up in the Tesla app. However, the car seems to be ignoring it and charging when pugged in. Does the Watch for Tesla app interfere with the off-peak settings in the Tesla app? I can find no such off-peak charging options in the Watch for Tesla app.

This app will not start or stop charging unless you tap the start or stop charging buttons. I use off peak charging myself and have been for three years with no interference. No requests are being sent automatically from the app. Most likely scenario is the app has been opened and buttons tapped on the watch unintentionally? Maybe underneath a long shirt sleeve?

Hi Kemmey, nope, no one was in the app at all. it only happens to my wife's Model Y. My Model 3 LR is fine with no issues.

Kimmey, I realize most often the likeliest cause could be user error but it doesn't seem so in this case. I have never charged via the Watch app. I understand your point about inadvertently doing it, but it seems unlikely that it would happen every time I plug the car in. I disabled the app, removed it from my watch and the car now charges on schedule as expected.
