Request to add more info to a ensemble .csv save.

Open JeffKitching opened this issue 1 month ago • 5 comments

This is a request, not an issue. I'm an editor for the DABLIST for the UK. I have freinds who kindly send me (.csv files) of ensemble information, so I can add more details to DABLIST (UK). My request is, if you could possibly add - Sampling Rate & (Coding) LC AAC / AAC v1 / AAC v2 to Ensemble Information or Export as CSV. It would make it so much simpler than sending a large .uff file. Thanking you in advance. Jeff Kitching (UK).

Hello Jeff, the problem with audio coding is that it cannot be retrieved from FIC but application would need to decode the audio to get it because it is coded in the stream. So actually the only information I can add is either MP2 or AAC. Bitrate is possible of course. I am just curious - application uploads ensemble information to FMLIST with both bitrate and AAC/MP2. Isn't the DABLIST database connected with FMLIST?

I have a tick in the upload to DABLIST, but in my own experience, I have yet to be convinced that anything is being uploaded. I wish it was working as it should do!  Others have doubts if the uploads work?  In my own opinion of couse. On 19 Nov 2025, at 20:07, KejPi @.***> wrote:KejPi left a comment (KejPi/AbracaDABra#257) Hello Jeff, the problem with audio coding is that it cannot be retrieved from FIC but application would need to decode the audio to get it because it is coded in the stream. Thank you for your prompt reply. No worries and hope you don’t mine me asking for the additional info. I have un- installed qirx and qtDAB and find your software’s is near perfect to use, with only minor bugs, but your software’s is the first choice for me. Thank you. On 19 Nov 2025, at 21:18, Jeff Kitching @.> wrote:I have a tick in the upload to DABLIST, but in my own experience, I have yet to be convinced that anything is being uploaded. https://www.fmlist.org/Wie-man-die-DAB-FIC-Multiplex-Konfiguration-exportiert.pdf

This (German) how-to shows how to do it in DAB Player. Checking each audio service after another is the only way to get these information.

The file looks as follows

6D_DAB+ MUX 2-StBK_2024-06-28_223717.csv

@JeffKitching For sure I do not mind, I welcome all suggestions for improvements as well as bug reports. So feel free to create issue anytime. Regarding the upload to FMLIST, if you see message like that one below in the log, then the upload was successful in the sense that there was OK reply from the server. If it is then populated in the database, it is another story. For that I would suggest to contact Günter Lorenz and share your doubts.
