[Feature Request] Feed to the external player not only the current file, but the whole playlist
Whenever playback starts on Plex, it automatically produces a playlist (with the next episodes or whatever), it would be awesome if the external player could get the whole list for continuous playback, even if it would mean having to manually mark each file as viewed. Of course, this could be implemented as an option for the user.
Thanks
I don't see a way to implement, what you are asking for.
The only thing which this application is doing, is to start/open a single file on your server. Your feature would imply, that the application, which actually handles the playback, supports playlists. But the application is not hardcoded. It depends on your system.
Is there even any player that doesn't support a m3u/m3u8 playlist? The only command needed would be "open this m3u file". It should be a second option, either from a popup menu, or something the user would set in a .ini settings file or something. The default would be loading just the media file, of course.
As for how to obtain the m3u file, I'm pretty sure Plex can generate'em, but even if not, they're not much more than a list of filepaths and some headers, I think.
The essential question is how to obtain the file paths from Plex.
On that, I would have no clue. I'm guessing that Plex creates a playlist every time a new playback starts, but I have 0 knowledge on how Plex works.
