[Issue] DPI issue on Mac with external screen
Retina MacBook Pro with non-Retina external monitor attached.
If game started on external monitor:
If game started on laptop screen:
Issue only happens when external monitor is attached.
@rogual Hi. I was not able to reproduce this issue. 2 different MacBook pro 16-2019/mac os catalina 10.15.7 with and without extenal monitor (dell 4k).
Can you please check if you have any system modifications or kernel extensions installed?
And I need more information - what macbook, what mac os system. Does the game starts on the active
monitor?
Please reopen if this issue is still relevant.
Not sure but I would suspect it comes from the monitor having a different DPI to the Macbook. My external monitor is an old 1920x1080 Acer model, so MacOS uses different scaling on that than on its built-in high-DPI flat panel.
If your monitor is 4K it probably has a similar DPI to the Mac.
And I need more information - what macbook, what mac os system.
MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports) MacOS Mojave 10.14.6
Can you please check if you have any system modifications or kernel extensions installed?
Nothing relevant, I don't think:

I don't use Hammerspoon or Redshift or anything that messes with the display.
Does the game starts on the active monitor?
I have the external monitor set as primary. If I start the game from the external monitor, it shows up on that monitor. If I start it from the built-in monitor, the window appears on that monitor then quickly moves itself to the external.
Also, probably not surprising: if I turn on Mirror Displays, the bug doesn't show up.
Sorry, I can't see how to reopen this. I might not have permission.
This is how it is configured to me

I will try on my old laptop later.
Maybe there's a way to put your external monitor into a low-res (non-retina) mode? I wouldn't expect any difference on the old laptop unless it has a non-retina screen.
I can reproduce this issue because I have exactly the same configuration. Workaround: The game work fine if I move game window from external monitor to main and return back. And one more: If I place Finder with application icon for launch the game on main monitor then game start fine both main and external screens. The issue occurs only if finder on external screen and game window try to start on external screen.
never saw this problem with macbook and external monitor... can really work on it
