Possible to forward email?

I'm writing a Chrome extension with InboxSDK with the goal of forwarding an email to a predetermined address (e.g a helpdesk). I'm going down the OAuth road now as I can't find a JS way to solve this problem.

Adding a button to the thread view in GMail was pretty straight forward with InboxSDK:

The question is do I continue with gmail.js or similar, or OAuth and GMail API.

I know nothing about InboxSDK, so I can't advice on that.

What I can say is that gmail.js currently has no feature to automatically forward email.
