Can you generate the log as described above, so that I can try see the path the respective calls take and work out the differences to earlier versions

Adding it in config.xml is the best way because the service is using the correct user. Otherwise, just run `gerbera -d --debug-mode="xml|cds" -l /foo/bar.log`

That's why we added #2836 (external) to mask the address. Virtual url is more or less intended for container environments
