Create collection automatically

it would be nice to create a collectin against the name of the folder or its store the files.

Ex :

/Jules Verne/A Journey To The Centre Of The Earth

he create a collection : Jules Verne

Is this for books specifically?

My problem with creating collections automatically from folder name is it forces a folder structure on people, else they have to delete collections each scan.

However, I do have plans to further enhance the filtering present in Kavita and build out a plugin system of sorts with access to the API (API is already available for 3rd party scripts), so something like this is still doable.

we can consider an option on the admin panel for each libraries to choose either the creation of collection in relation to the name of the parant folder or in relation to the metadata

I'll think about it. I might instead just provide this feature when I build out plugins as an example of what a plugin can do.

I think this is a great idea. I would certainly hope that the interface can allow both "folder" view and set view. A lot of my mangas are stored by way of authors' names in its parental directory.

To come back on this one, is there a way to keep the structure in Kavita ? Like for me in the folder mounted in /book I do have folders per author but in Kavita I have all the books straight into book. I would like to be able to keep the same structure with Book Author/Book Name.

Closing this as https://github.com/Kareadita/Kavita/issues/546 will own both Auto reading list and collection creation via ComicInfo properties. Folder based collection is not going to be supported.
