Scanning a library is grouping books by publisher.

What happened?

I'm trying to see if Kavita would be able to be used with Doujins and I encountered a problem that I believe is a bug. According to the documentation the following folder structure is valid Library/Publisher/Series/file to test this I used 4 cbz. becuase doujins rarely have series, the number of series are 4, and I used them from two diferent publishers (or circles as they're called in doujins), my folder structure was as follow: test(the library)/ circles(there are two folders here) /series(there are 4 folders, 2 on each circle folder) /files(4 files each one inside one of the series folders).

Because the naming convention of doujins isn't supported I made a comicinfo file with Manga Manager, one for each file thinking that Kavita would use that instead of the name of the file. comicinfos.zip (I renamed them to be able to upload them but they're called ComicInfo inside the cbz's)

the usual naming convention of doujins is: (convention)[circle(author)]name(magazine or parody name)[language][translator][anything extra] of course this is not universal but this is just to show how the names of the cbz's were.

opening kavita creating a test library and using the folder "test" as root, the scan happened but when finishing, only 2 series were being displayed 3

when cheking one of the series the books under publishers were being grouped as if they were just one book: 1 and in the other there were the two books, but they were inside one series. 2 thinking that maybe the names of the files were the problem, I renamed them all to "series name Ch.1" (i put Ch. 1 in the 4 of them), then I forced a scan. the problem didn't go away and instead both series now had just one book but they were the two books listed as one. 4

here are the logs:

kavita20240909.log

the library type is manga but I did the test using "comic" type before and the same thing happened.

What did you expect?

to see 4 different series.
