I can't make this work on DIsgaea PC 1.0.0.5

Hello there! Disgaea lover here. Here's my hope you're doing well and have some time to answer this and help me (or at least mark this as "won't fix").

I've tried both full and lite 0.7.X, 0.6, 0.5.5 and 0.5.4 to no avail. The game:

• launches with 07X lite, but has no menu or sounds.
• launches with 07X, has menu but crashes upon mouse move (actually, upon highlighting any element in the ImGUI)
• launches with 06, same crashes as in 07X proper, but now also can't be forced to go bordered window (the entire screen is black, regardless of mipmap settings)
• launches with 055 and 054 but is unable to go windowed (this time the game screen is white and click-through)

The game does work with up-to-date SpecialK global injector, but^

• it injects the "upgraded" OpenGL-Ki
• since the game actually runs on OpenGL, I can't inject any textures that I managed to dump with PrettyPrinny
• what it does try to replace are the FPS counter textures from the overlay
• disabling the overlay doesn't help to inject anything, it just shows 0/0 (injected, missed) stats

Details:

• my goal is to inject textures into disgaeapc 1.0.0.5 without having to decompress IMY files in DATA/SUBDATA files textures.zip
• I don't care about GUI being available as long as the injection works
• going into window mode is a necessity, that window having a border is not
• I'm aware of the netherworld content pack existence and I don't want to clutter that game with those additional sprites
• I'm aware of the HD sprites mod, but that one replaces data in DATA.DAT and SUBDATA.DAT that has nothing to do with texture injection or Pretty Prinny
• The reason I want to change those textures is that the new UI it too bright for me (switch version has a nice beige/sepia colored new UI) and the old is filtered and blurry
• making the old UI not blurry will actually help with all my gripes
