Tumblr does seem to deviate from normal microblogging sites. How do you imagine us to support it? For example we wouldn't support following tags or something out of the box straight away. How can we adapt Tumblr's platform to a Twitter-like UI?

I wouldn't expect having the ability to follow tags out of the box, but following other users and having them appear on timeline should be doable. Replies are still replies, Repeats are known as Reblogs, Favorites are known as Likes. For media posts, they can be handled the same way that Mastodon media posts are currently handled - a link to open the media in browser.

Alright, I will accept this request preemptively. Although, it won't be our featured as 'supported' unless we can really be sure we can support it long-term.

Also, I thought I should let you know that Tumblr devs says that they are planning on integrating ActivityPub soon, but when this will be released is not yet known. https://twitter.com/photomatt/status/1594577983028740096
