Kurdistan and Persia (idea)
I’d have to read up to reflect on the historical possibility of it, but I was playing Persia and got to thinking about Kurdistan. If one conquers Anatolia, I would point out that, geopolitically, giving some Kurdish provinces to Kurds would further weaken the power of Turkey, which I imagine would be desirable in such a situation IRL, if one were to gain something for it. I’ll probably do it just because I like Kurdistan. If one were a faction besides Persia I imagine giving them more territory would be even more desirable to weaken Turkey.
Historically, Persians and Kurds are related. The problem with Kurdistan has IRL is that they’re population is in several countries, so that Persian Kurds in this timeline might opine to join it. But, unless one was going to directly incorporate them all through conquest, what about confederating with them to expand ones tax base for the loss? If they survived imagine one could float the idea to them before attacking (and/or create it after), and become a semi-autonomous part of the empire (as I would suppose a couple of my puppets in Central Asia might be). But, Persia has a lot of new territory to consider, and maybe has its eye or more. By the way I have no idea if Azerbaijan is supposed to incorporate with me at some point, which is often a problem. The game makes it sound like it will. Typically I make non-cores into puppets if the game wanted to just inform me.
Diplomatic coding could be a little more complicated because in my scenario I played they actually conquered Syria, and it’s rather silly for them to be directly ruling all or Syria, anymore than they could IRL.
It also just occurred to me that Samarkand is rather Persian, if one wanted to consider directly incorporating them. I conquered them earlier in the game but peaced our the rest of it. Maybe one still keeps around some other puppets i dunno, One would have to look at that if considering a Persia revamp. I’m just pointing out that as Wikipedia says “most of the "Uzbeks" are in fact Tajiks (or Iranian people)” if one wanted to further consider a Persian renaissance. I can’t create a puppet for Samarkand since I didn’t conquer everything.
