Describe the specific change you would like: If Zhili goes into exile in Sichuan and is ruled by Jiang Baili, there is an event that allows to continue the military dictatorship or change to the civilian government after defeating Qing. The puppet president can be Hu Shih, Wellington Koo, Yan Huiqing or others.

Explain the reasoning behind this actionable change: Unlike Wu Peifu, this isn't to make Jiang the man behind the shadows. Like Hu Shih, his service in Zhili's government doesn't mean he supports authoritarianism or dictatorship. They are both democratic reformers, not radical revolutionaries like Sun Yat-sen.

In the 1920s of the OTL, Jiang had supported the Guild Socialism, the New Culture Movement and the Federalism. Jiang and Zhang Junmai were assistants of Liang Qichao in the New Culture Movement, and served as editors for the magazine "Liberation and Reformation" from 1920 to 1922. Jiang also served as a parliamentarian of Zhejiang in 1920 and Hunan in 1921, supported federalism and participated in the drafting of "Hunan Provincial Constitution".

In the game, the main members of Zhili Clique were too old in 1936. If the Manchu coup happened, Jiang ruled a group of warlord generals and reactionary bureaucrats before they went into exile in Sichuan, but most of them have retired or been killed in the Coup. The civilian faction has been able to compete with the military faction for power. Even If Zhili regained Beijing, the core members must be very old or died of natural causes. Without the interference of Wu Peifu and these reactionary warlords, I think an optional sham democracy is possible.

As for Jiang's personal wishes, if Sichuan isn't ruled by the Armament Department, Jiang will go to non-KMT Guangdong. So I guess Jiang still has a little bit of support for democracy and federalism in the KRTL.

Jiang Baili also wrote "我的社会主义讨论" [My Discussion about Socialism] and "社会主义怎样宣传？" [How to Propagate Socialism?] and other articles to propagate the Guild Socialism. But I can't find any articles online.
