10.12 compatibility
Hello guys! I've installed 10.12 GM on my 573g with i5 and basically it's working in 95%. Known issues:
- No fully compatible keyboard and touchpad driver
- FN keys doesn't work
- touchpad settings in system preferences doesn't work
- Internal camera doesn't work
Beside that, I didn't notice any bugs yet...
good job. Thanks for your information. By the way, what's your touchpad vendor?
If both touchpad/keyboard and internal camera don't work properly, then it could be something wrong with USB
Synaptics. No, from what I'm reading FN keys and trackpad prefpane doesn't work because of modification in system code in 10.12. Rehabman is working on update of VoodooPS2, but in the meantime I'm trying to set up ApplePS2SmartTouchPad kext. It's working way better, with already some of FN functionality implemented.
can you share the ApplePS2SmartTouchPad kext? i was also looking for a viable replacement for VoodooPS2. i am up and running with 10.12 GM
http://forum.osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/1948-elan-focaltech-and-synaptics-smart-touchpad-driver-mac-os-x/ It's this one. Note that is way worse IMHO from VoodooPS2. It requires a lot of plist modification to adjust it for Your needs. I strongly suggest waiting for Voodoo until updating to 10.12

ok, will wait for the voodooPS2. anyway 10.12 coming out today.will do a fresh install when its out
installed 10.12 release from yesterday. up and running well.smooth. audio and everything works. with some glitches -
- display pref panel does not open. DSDT the same one provided by Kaijun.
- SIP is enabled. even after rootless mode in clover
EDIT: VoodooPS2 I was using in El Capitan works if I keep it in the clover kext folder. but if I install it. it stops working
Both point were working for me.

Hey guys, how do you make the sound work?
using the patched Kext or the dummy hack?
Dummy hda. Check the one that i've been posting here in the past. It's in closed issues

i used AppleHDA patcher. works like a charm
@michaelspeed sorry, i just forgot which version should i choose to patch... ALC 282 v1 or v2?
@Majkwin ok, i just re-patched the kext with the new AppleHDA Patcher and generated the new DummyHDA, now it works.
Any updates? Are some of You currently using Sierra?
🙋
and i found a temporary solution for corrupt trackpad preference: replace the pref file from el captain: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/solved-trackpad-preference-pane-is-blank.199946/page-2#post-1326398
other problems plz check: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/readme-common-some-unsolved-problems-in-10-12-sierra.202316/
do you guys get a "could not load Display preferrence panel" in settings with HD4400? i can confirm this only hurts HD4400
@michaelspeed yes. check the second link i posted. and a thread inside it also described this problem: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/display-prefpane-cant-load-found-the-problem-and-solution.203955/
If you are same lazy as me, and don't wanna do further research, just copy:

into the EDID section in Clover Configurator and Enable Inject EDID
just like this:
no worry, Clover Configurator will trim the spaces between the codes automatically!
thanx will give it a try. i have been banned from tonnymacx86 for using app cracks
confirmend working thanx
did anyone try 10.12.1 ? i m hearing it breaks the compatibility a lot?
i have a strange bug here, when watching youtube it plays ok, but when i start to play form other sites the it freezes, not even the mouse moves. its like KP. i cannot see any logs for it, but definitely feels like KP. any solutions. Flash is installed and upgraded.
I've just installed Sierra (clean) on my i7 variant, and everything works. I face the following issues:
- Shutdown - The display turns off, but it stays on. Reboot, however, works and is quite fast.
- Using the computer after I wake up from sleep is a horrendous laggy experience, something I wouldn't ever want to experience again.
On a side note, I'm on BIOS v2.30, and have flashed the ME files in the body of the post.
@Ace73 Only Sierra has such issues?
@michaelspeed i also have some kind of this issue, but it's not reproducible actually, it just happens randomly(not that often, once every 1/2 month?). Especially while watching YouTube, or running Flash player. I guess it's still related to the compatibility of graphics. Maybe changing the ig-platform-id would help.
@michaelspeed or because that you injected the EDID? rollback and see if it is fixed?
confirm about shutdown not working! i only shutdown once a week. no the problem was before EDID, and it does not occur when playing youtube. youtube is fine. just that some other flash players are really messing with the flash.
@michaelspeed i haven't shut the laptop down for a while. I will also test if EDID affect shutdown. Maybe we can't just simply copy the EDID from other model.
yes but the EDID is definitely working. the display preference is working and i think we need t start working on 10.12.1
@Majkwin Can you be more specific which fn keys don't work? I have installed the newest VoodooPS2Controller by RehabMan (Link: https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-Voodoo-PS2-Controller) from 2016-12-08 and it works like a charm on Mac OS X 10.12. I can use fn keys for brightness and volume control, inclusive disable sound. However, the touchpad settings in system preferences doesn't work, too. I have also an Acer Aspire v5 573g with an Intel i5 Processor.
Edited: After 2 restarts i can edit the touchpad settings in system preferences, too. So i hope this solves your issue 1. To be more specific: I have installed VoodooPS2Controller -> restarted -> installed kexts ACPIBatteryManager.kext and aDummyHDA.kext -> restarted -> touchpad settings worked. I cannot explain why the touchpad settings didn't work in first place, but it happened this way.
Just installed thanks to this wonderful contributor! (Kaijun et al)... on a V5-573 non-G i7 Haswell 4500u. Just updated to 10.12.4
Screen Brightness worked on 10.12.0, but stopped working entirely on 10.12.4 (still have slider in prefpane tho). Locked at 100% brightness, but can use 3rd-party apps to adjust it (with incorrect scale) -- such as Brightness Slider.
Obviously, the Realtek card reader doesn't work...
Headphone did not work with AppleHDA/DummyHDA method, but VoodooHDA 2.8.9 works fine, need to fix volume from about 80% starting position each start... as VoodooSettingsLoader no longer works properly with this version/OS.
If I create the USB Stick with Sierra and Clover (Legacy Mode), replace just the CLOVER Folder i get stuck at the Apple Logo and it reboots. Have you Guys changed something more then just the CLOVER folder? For example renaming the 10.11 folder? Got a i5 4200U if it matters
You did something wrong... are you using the dsdt/ssdt from the 4200u branch?
I am using the i7 4500u model, and it is (nearly) PERFECT. Let me know if you are using -xcpm at startup? LAPIC patch?
I now have vanilla AppleHDA and AppleALC.kext solution working... it appears it was only a port-sensing issue. Still no native screen brightness tho.
@hehljo boot with -v
argument and paste the result?
Thanks for your fast reply. I just replaced the CLOVER folder with the latest release from Kaijun with no adjustment. (because its optimized for the 4200U with HD4400)
If i boot with -v
i just get a black screen with no log and it reboots after a minute.
The boot argument -xcpm
is also the Clover settings.
If i try installing El Capitan i get the error
This copy of the Install OS X El Capitan application can't be verified. It may have been corrupted or tampered with during downloading
so i tried installing the latest OS from Apple.
Sorry these are my first experiences with Hackintosh
The certificates of older OS expire... why aren't you using Sierra?
If you switch to Sierra 10.12.4, I can supply my EFI folder, all you need to do is delete SSDT and reboot with GenerateCStates/PStates = YES
I have patched for a lot of things... did you follow the BIOS MEI update procedure?

I tried installing Sierra from a fresh created USB Stick with Clover. I did it strictly like the guide in Issue #7 with no changes. There was nothing with a BIOS MEI update, i just updated the BIOS to the last version 2.30.
Now i deleted all the SSDT files in the patched folder and changed the following values:
- First try only changed
CLOVER/config.plist
Root/ACPI/SSDT/Generate NO -> YES
- Next try also changed
CLOVER/OEM/SystemProductName/config.plist
Root/ACPI/GenerateCStates and GeneratePStates NO -> Yes
andCLOVER/OEM/SystemProductName/UEFI/config.plist
Root/ACPI/GenerateCStates and GeneratePStates NO -> Yes
But the same problem with stuck at the Apple Logo.
Maybe u can supply me your EFI folder. Its a bit confusing that with the OSX El Capitan were no problems, except the certificates.
It is LITERALLY the first thing in the guide:
" Acer V5-573G Hackintosh
All my hackintosh stuffs of Acer V5-573G
##News
- Shutdown/Sleep/Restart issues described in issue 6 https://github.com/Kaijun/Acer-V5-573G-Hackintosh/issues/6 was fixed! Check the Management-Engine-Firmware https://github.com/Kaijun/Acer-V5-573G-Hackintosh/tree/master/Management-Engine-Firmware folder!"
sigh

Find my EFI folder and some patched 10.12.4 kexts attached.
NOTE: I have made no NVIDIA/Discrete GPU changes in DSDT, as not necessary for my non-G 573.
NOTE2: I made all the other patches for the 573G, so apart from the SSDT file for the 4500U, it should work fine (all CPU related items removed).
Best of luck.
Thank you for your efforts. I updated the MEI update and get the Installer to work with your EFI. If i choose '-v' at CLOVER i get an error and the Laptop reboots when the Sierra installation is at "7 seconds remaining"
That is probably trying to update Apple EFI files (which do not exist). The actual install is probably fine, because it is a two-step install, boot back into the USB installer to complete the install...

Sry i think I'm too stupid to get it work... If i install it again it starts from the beggining and stops at the same point. Doesn't matter how many times i boot into Clover and do the OSX install procedure.
Install Log
No native mechanism to verify InstallInfo.plist
No native mechanism to verify InstallESD.dmg
Operation queue succeeded
Boot chime muted
I can't get into the second step of the Installation because there is only the USB stick to select in Clover.
point of startup or point of install?
Fresh install is usually two steps, and you need to restart via USB and GO TO USB INSTALLER AGAIN, and install again... only then is it complete.

After the installation i get the posted Install Log and it restarts to Clover and i startet the Installation again. But its allways the same installation procedure and not a different step then the first installation.
Now i tried the Startup Disk
but it only reboots into Clover and i just can start the macOS Installer from the USB Stick like the times before.
Now i try to restore from a TimeMachine Backup
It looks identical, but trust me, the second install is different and legit.
After second install, boot to internal from USB Clover... and it should complete the install and get to the desktop.
Here's hoping anyway (PS. It only shows the log if there was an error).

The most works fine. Shutdown reboot and all that stuff works. I'm using a TP-LINK nano Wlan Stick with the divers directly from TP-LINK.
Only thing is the Touchpad which i'm experimenting with. Only the leftclick works on the Hardware Button of the Touchpad. No Touch functionality and no right click.
I used VoodooPS2Controller.kext, I have left click, right click on hardware... click and double-finger drag, right-click on tap is hard, as sensitivity is too low... I disabled with FN-key and use wireless mouse with micro-dongle... :-)

Does 10.12.4 has any usb sleep issue? I have suffered this...
I have not had any sleep issue with V5-573 (i7-4500u) need to use keyboard to wake laptop tho (I have not experimented with lid-wake, as I know the only solution I have seen disables Lid-Sleep, which can lead to overheating if you happen to put your laptop in the laptop bag while still running (this happened on my previous HackBook Pro (HP Pavilion). The laptop was almost too hot to touch when I removed it from the bag 10min later -- lucky I noticed, or it could have been damaged. Just stick with lid-sleep, and wake with the keyboard!
NOTE: I have thoroughly tested it when newly installed, but I have no need to put laptop to sleep, so don't currently use it... I will test it again when I can...

K, it is a requirement for USB3.0 so it doesn't interfere with USB2.0 (and other hardware)

Hi! I have the i3 model, 573g-326z, and I successfully installed Yosemite but now i want to update to Sierra and I have some issues. When I boot from the usb burned with the installer of Sierra 10.12.4 it give me kernel panic after the Apple logo, no log, nothing in verbose mode, what can I do? I'm using the clover folder provided by macmeister1967 in this discussion
My Clover folder is for the 573 only, it is missing the NVIDIA DSDT/SSDT patches so graciously provided by Kaijun. Take a look at the dedicated DSDT patching section linked on the main page for ideas on getting this working...
NOTE: I do NOT have HDMI audio working yet :-(

Okay thanks for the fast reply ;), I will try soon @macmeister1967 (Yes I am new in the hackintoshes world)
I have the same problem as hehljo: I don't manage to install Sierra. I am quite experienced with hackintosh on this computer: I installed 10.9 and 10.11. I still manage to install 10.11 but not 10.12. Using a USB stick to start the installer, I get a garbled screen in UEFI mode (as for the 10.9 and 10.11 installers). In Legacy mode, the installer won't start: in verbose mode, I just see a non-blinking cursor for about 10 seconds, after which the computer restarts. When I try a direct install of 10.12 from 10.11, the first part seems to work fine and the computer restarts after counting down its 30 seconds but Clover doesn't show the installer as boot option, so I cannot boot into the installer to finish the second part of the process.
Do I need to have BIOS v2.30? I haven't found a way to update the BIOS without Windows.
Does anybody has an idea how to solve this? I don't think hehljo did. Any help would be appreciated!
Install Lilu.kext and IntelGraphicsFixup.kext
;-)

You update BIOS from UEFI using an EFI file... it should be included. Without this, the laptop will not shutdown...

Hi guys, thanks for your continuous contributions, actually i bought a new Macintosh and haven't played with this laptop for a long time.
Thanks for your support. I'll have a look into it. My model is 573G. Kexts will not make an option visible in clover, but maybe you mean to install this in the USB stick to allow booting the installer in Legacy mode? Or do you mean in UEFI mode without getting the screen garbled?
