That's because Android Auto UI support is still not implemented.
Duplicate of #623
im not using/running android auto tho? it is an car stereo which is running android 12?
i installed the spotube app directly onto my car stereo directly from both the google play store and fdroid ive even tried the nightly build too and its the same thing? the queue panel just doesnt open up like it does on my macbook or android phone?
Oh ok so I guess it's Android Automotive OS or something of that kind. In that case it should work.
The queue not showing is probably a UI related bug as the aspect ratio is kinda bizarre 😅
maybe possible!
i couldnt get the login with spotify to work originally as it just kept showing a blank black screen then i discovered the android device was running version 63 of the android webview! i couldnt update it/find it on the play store, so i installed version 93 of webview from apkpure, and switched the webview to use version 93 in a hidden setting in android then suddenly i could see the spotify login page!
good old chinese android devices!
Lol that was quite an adventure. I can't push updates rights but for now you can do workaround to at least control the queue and other controls
You've to set app's Settings > Appearance > Layout Mode to Extended from Adaptive. It'll force the app to use Desktop Layout which will be usable in your case
@KRTirtho i already tried that, that view doesnt work either, exactually the same thing
EDIT: the only way around currently i have at the moment,
- enable spotify connect
- load up the app on my android phone
- into devices and connect to my stereo (from my phone)
- load up the queue on my phone and use it from there
PS: every single time i go into the settings menu on my android unit, the devices list gets longer and longer, starts with 1 device, then 2, then 3, etc.. then randomly it will clear the devices back to 1 and start again
Queue does not exist in Android app, unless it's hidden or something. If it exists anywhere at all, it is impossible to invoke, and it is also not possible to add items to it (so, it's basically impossible to interact with at all).
The above was the fifth bug report I filed since yesterday morning about this app, but not the fifth bug/unfinished/nonfunctional feature I encountered.
@ottercynical the android app does have a queue feature, because my mobile is an android and the queue works perfectly fine on it, i think its because my head unit is a non-standard size screen so the queue pop-up doesnt work correctly thats all
I would implore someone—anyone—to prove the statement that the Android app has a queue that can be viewed, and provide visible proof of this claim. I have found this assumption to be false upon my own closer investigations in the app literally right now.

@si458 Those don't exist on my app. Also, queuing anything doesn't work either. Surprise.
