feature request: snap to center of ruler line

I sometimes need to measure the edge of one shape to the center of another, but I'm unable to find via Google search any instructions or videos or API descriptions of a way to do this. Is it possible and I am just really failing to find out how?

No there is no "snap to center" option. And this is an issue tracker, not a support center.
