Bug - don't know how to describe it and it's random

Sometimes when I remove a layer and then re-add it (because the update is bugged) I see this error and it's a "QGIS freeze" i have to force quit the app and any unsaved information is lost.

Repeatable, just delete layer and add back .. do that 20 times for a folder with 200+ photos and you'll get this bug.
