Showing/hidding windows confusing

Currently, windows can "disappear" for two reasons:

  • Window has been minimized to the taskbar
  • Option "Window->Hide XYZ Window" has been activated

This leads to much confusion for me.

The main effect: When I right-click the Charm icon and use e.g. "Show Task Editor", the window might not actually appear, because it is still minimized. Even worse, I use virtual desktops, so I don't even know which virtual desktop the window will be on. Usually it takes me a while to find the window after showing something.

It would already help a lot of "Show XYZ" in the Charm icon would automatically un-minimize the window.

For me, I'd actually prefer to get rid of the two different ways of hiding a window altogether. Not sure if that's a good solution, it would mean you always have 3 taskbar entries. Actually the best would be to get rid of multiple windows and just have one...

I hate the 3-windows setup, too. It might make sense on Mac OSX, but it doesn't on linux/windows. I need a full virtual desktop just for Charm because it's too difficult to see all of Charm's GUI in one go when using Alt-Tab; I sometimes end up with 2 out of 3 windows for no reason (I never hide them; seems like a restore bug sometimes). Etc.

Give me one other app in KDE or Windows which requires using 3 different toplevel windows? ;)
